"Three Nikau Palms" Exhibition Panel 2008
1700 x 850 x x60mm

Nikau panel

This panel is based on a design for the entry of a residence. It is triple-glazed (three layers of low-iron 6mm glass with 20mm spacers) and gives a three dimensional effect. The sarong design and trees have been digitally painted onto the glass and fired to insure durability.

The sarong layer, printed on the middle layer, appear as a veil hanging between the grey nikau in the front and the blue in the back. Any projected light through it casts shadows of fronds and filmy fabric.

Exhibited at Centre International du Vitrail, Chartres, France from 4 October 2008 to 31 August 2009 in the Exhibition: "Gathering Light / Capter la Lumiere"
